BioSafe Systems Introduces PVent® Biological Fungicide

EAST HARTFORD, CT, May 2018 – BioSafe Systems announces the release of PVent® Biological Fungicide. An enhancement in microbial fungicide technology, PVent provides growers with an easy-to-use, versatile IPM tool. This innovative development was spearheaded through a strategic partnership between two family-owned businesses: BioSafe Systems and Lallemand Plant Care.

Due to its active ingredient, a 93% Gliocladium catenulam strain J1446, PVent® has unique adaption traits, meaning that it can thrive across broad ranges of temperature and humidity, both in the soil and on leaf and stem tissue. PVent® has a natural symbiotic relationship with the rhizosphere microbiome, with part of its adaptive success coming from an enzyme it produces to specifically target pathogenic fungi. This makes PVent® an entirely unique biofungicide and a product that will fit in well with IPM programs for indoor and outdoor production.

Powered by three modes of action, PVent® is biologically programmed to rapidly colonize its host environment to defend against, attack and destroy even the most resilient plant pathogens. PVent® can be used on field-grown crops, berries, pome and stone fruits, tree nuts, vineyards and more to control a variety of pathogens including Powdery Mildew, Fusarium, Phytophthora and Botrytis.

BioSafe is excited to add this revolutionary product to an already diverse product portfolio. For more information contact BioSafe Systems toll-free at 888-273-3088 or visit www.biosafesystems.com.

BioSafe Systems AG Division Expands Southwest Regional Support

BioSafe Systems is proud to announce the newest addition to our Agronomy Team, Mrs. Raina King. Raina will provide regional product and technical support from her strategic location of McAllen, TX, in the Rio Grande Valley. Raina’s unique strengths in field agronomy, coordinating and prioritizing research and trial grants for Texas vegetable and citrus producers, and recently educating citrus producers on new FSMA and produce safety guidelines, provides Raina with broad skillset that allows her to offer growers and dealers un-paralleled support throughout BioSafe’s Field-to-Packing Program.

Raina King’s Masters in Crop Science Agronomy and focus in Biochemistry, coupled with her diverse career in the local Southwest Agriculture industry, sets an ideal example of the professional expertise and diverse educational support BioSafe’s Regional Technical Agronomists strive to provide to our valued growers and dealers.  BioSafe’s Agronomy Segment Manager, Michael Larose, provided unique insight into Raina’s role on the AG Technical Team stating, “Starting with my first conversation with Raina it was clear her technical expertise, her diverse career in the specialty agriculture market, and most notedly the contagious enthusiasm she shows towards helping producers solve on-farm challenges made her an ideal team member for the Agriculture segment.”

Raina’s prior role as Grant Director and Administrator for Texas Citrus Mutual, allowed her to immerse herself in direct grower relations and communication with a focus on critical research funding, FSMA regulations and local emergency labeling needs. With her passion for maintaining close connections with the grower community and Southwest produce industry make her the ideal addition to BioSafe’s Agronomy Team. When asked about her prior careers and how those experiences will help her excel as the Regional Technical Agronomist for the Southwest Region, Raina provided an excellent and concise answer, “At Texas Citrus Mutual I was able to sit down with producers and listen to issues that they’ve had. BioSafe Systems’ has provided me the opportunity where not only can I still listen to my producer’s challenges, but now provide effective and proven solutions.”  She is looking forward to “being in the field with the Crop Advisors and producers, getting [her] hands dirty, and helping address the increasing challenges through effective and economical solutions.” Her biggest draw to her new career path was “BioSafe’s family-owned company culture and its high reputation in the Agrichemical market.”  Raina adds, “Plus, I take immense pride knowing I’m valued Team Member in a private company that stands firm on its commitment to manufacturing its products in the United States; I know the growers and industry in my area value that core principal.”
